What's New in EFT Server 6?

GlobalSCAPE’s EFT Server, version 6, combines the robust security features and extensibility of EFT Server with the simplicity and ease of use of Secure FTP Server. EFT Server is now offered in a core and an Enterprise edition, each able to be tailored to your exact needs with a host of optional add-on modules.

Certain new features below are available only in EFT Server Enterprise and/or only with the modules. Refer to EFT Server Feature Comparison for a detailed list of the differences between the core and enterprise editions.

Back-Up & Restore Wizard
The Back-up & Restore Wizard gathers and packages files into an easy-to-transport file for you to re-deploy (migrate) or restore.

Auditing of Administrator Changes
Audit and view reports on all administrators' activity.

PCI DSS 1.2 Support
EFT Server’s High Security Module (HSM) has been updated to comply with the latest PCI-DSS version 1.2.

FIPS-Certified Cryptographic Libraries
EFT Server's HSM now provides FIPS-certified libraries for SSH and SSL connections.

Oracle Database Connectivity
EFT Server Enterprise can audit to an Oracle database in addition to SQL.

New OpenPGP library
The new OpenPGP library offers more options for signing, encryption, decription, and ciphers.

SFTP OpenSSH Support
The updated SSH library supports import and creation of OpenSSH style keys, key generation, and display of the Server’s public key.

New Server Administrator Roles
The new "User Administrator" role has all the privileges of the "Change Password" role, but can also create new users.

SQL Server Express
EFT Server now comes packaged with SQL Server express for development testing.

Installation Wizard
The improved installation wizard guides you through the installation and detects previous versions with the option of a fresh install or an upgrade.

Administrative Interface Enhancements
The new interface is intuitive and easy-to-use, putting a wealth of information at the administrator's fingertips.

Custom Commands
Create custom commands from within Event Rules, and select variables from within an Execute Command dialog box.

Windows 2008 and x64 Support
Leverage the latest Windows OS by deploying EFT Server on Windows 2008 Server Standard, Enterprise, or Datacenter Edition x84-64. For detailed requirements, click here.

Advanced Workflow Engine
The Advanced Workflow Engine (AWE) performs complex actions automatically triggered by server events. Create scripts, macros, or other code-intensive process using an easy drag-and-drop interface.

DMZ Gateway Enterprise (Multiple Site)
DMZ Gateway is now available (with EFT Server Enterprise only) in a multiple-Site version.

Plain HTTP Interface Updated and Customizable
The base HTTP/S landing page is more intuitive and completely user-modifiable to match your corporate brand.

Event Rule Download and Copy/Move Action wizards
New wizards for the Download and Copy/Move Actions in Event Rules take the guesswork out of defining these Actions.

Event Rule Builder Interface Updates
The Rule Builder interface is updated with more intuitive icons, informational prompts, and logic to prevent errors.

Send E-mail Action Address Browser
Click the TO, CC, and BCC buttons to launch a familiar Select Names dialog box.

Default Paths
You can now change the default location of EFT Server's configuration file.

Default Server Messages
Configure default server messages password user login prompts.

Server Local Time
Switch between UTC/GMT and local server timestamps for FTP/S and HTTP/S directory listings.

Home Folder
You can now designate a "home folder" for users other than the one inherited.

User Disk Quota
The user Disk Quota fields now show quota values in megabytes and a percentage value for disk space free/remaining.

Ban IP Address on Invalid Account
EFT Server improves on prior logic for connecting clients to count invalid login attempts when a non-existing username is provided.

General Changes
Multiple AS2 usability and bug fixes, backwards compatibility, password reset, and password complexity options have been added/enhanced.
