Enhanced File Transfer Secure Ad Hoc Transfer Module (SAT)

The innovative Secure Ad Hoc Transfer (SAT) module is designed for companies that need an out-of-the-box solution to exchange files without the problems associated with having to manually create temporary FTP accounts, the size limitations and security issues of regular email, or the time delays and high costs of overnight and physical shipments.

The SAT Module works in conjunction with GlobalSCAPE’s Enhanced File Transfer (EFT) server and allows users inside an enterprise to send and receive files of any size to and from recipients outside the organization with secure authentication, non-repudiation and auditing capabilities.

The process is bi-directional as recipients can securely deliver files back to the sender if the sender grants them permission. Auditing and receipt notifications provide non-repudiation of receipt for data that has been sent and/or received. This is critical where financial or healthcare or other sensitive time critical transactions must be verifiably completed.

Key Benefits
  • Send files too large for e-mail attachments
  • Pick-up files sent back to your organization
  • Users or administrators don't need to setup temporary FTP accounts
  • Transparently ensures files are sent securely
  • Provides auditing compliance and non-repudiation of receipt
How does it work?
  1. Users simply fill out a web form with sender and recipient information, and attach one or more files to send.
  2. The Secure Ad-hoc Transfer module then interacts with EFT Server, automatically setting up a temporary user account, storage space, and login credentials. An e-mail notification is then sent to the recipient alerting them that one or more files are available for the recipient to pick up. The e-mail includes a secure link, a user id and password to login to the temporary account.
  3. When the recipient logs in to the server, they will see the list of files which can be downloaded with a single mouse-click. If given permission by the sender, the recipient can upload files for the sender to retrieve. When the transaction is complete, the temporary accounts are disabled and deleted on a schedule set by you.
