Jim Morris - President and Chief Executive Officer
Jim Morris joined GlobalSCAPE as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2008. He is responsible for guiding the company's strategy, growth, operations, and customer satisfaction across GlobalSCAPE's enterprise, consumer and vertical markets.
For more than three decades, Morris has been an innovator and leader in the fields of information technology, network security, assurance, and operations for both product-centric and independent system consulting solutions. Morris served in military intelligence, the civil service, and for the past 25 years in senior executive positions for leading companies including; General Dynamics (VP), Veridian (VP), Veritect (EVP), Trident Data Systems (SVP), SecureInfo (EVP/GM), and Synteras (VP).
He co-led the Y2K Cyber Assurance cell for the White house, was an independent advisor for two security software product companies, and served on numerous industry and government review panels.
Morris is a frequent keynote speaker/panelist at trade conferences, published internationally, and has provided the expert view for national news coverage of network risks. He has received advanced training from the national security community and served as a subject matter expert on network security-focused delegations to the Peoples Republic of China and Australia.
Morris has received the award for Army Intelligence Action Officer of the Year and was named in Who's Who in Technology and Engineering. He also sits on the board of directors for San Antonio's Boys and Girls Club.
Craig Robinson - Chief Operating Officer
Craig Robinson joined GlobalSCAPE as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2008. He is responsible for integrating and enhancing GlobalSCAPE's business and technical operations across all functions and markets.
Robinson has more than 20 years of experience in operations, information technology, information assurance and R&D with executive experience ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar corporations in the commercial and government sectors. He has held executive positions for leading companies such as Symantec where he sequentially served in several leadership roles, including VP worldwide managed security services, VP solution delivery, and VP worldwide product marketing. In these leadership roles, he successfully led Symantec's entry into the incident management software market and leadership quadrant of the managed security services market.
In addition, he has held senior leadership positions at AXENT Technologies (co-founder and VP operations of consulting subsidiary Secure Network Consulting, Inc), META Security Group (co-founder, COO, CTO), Trident Data Systems (commercial president and CIO), and most recently, Synteras (general manager). He also is co-author of the reference Secure Internet Practices (Auerbach Publications).
Robinson serves on the board of NewTalk, Inc., a high-technology start up that he co-founded in 2004. He also has a pending patent for a software-based translation solution assigned to NewTalk Inc.
Robinson graduated from Stanford University with BS and MS degrees in Engineering.
Mendy Marsh - Chief Financial Officer
Mendy Marsh joined GlobalSCAPE in 2008 and now serves as the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She is responsible for presenting and reporting accurate and timely financial information, identifying and reporting on how the company can improve, economic forecasting and modeling, and overseeing the capital structure of the company. Marsh also manages GlobalSCAPE's investor relations activities.
Before joining GlobalSCAPE, Marsh spent eight years performing and managing financial statement audits for Deloitte & Touche, LLP. She supervised financial statement audits for companies in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, nonprofit, and real estate. Marsh also facilitated the training of new hires and senior auditors from all over the country in Deloitte's auditing methodology and proprietary technology. In addition, she researched and provided guidance related to complex accounting issues including derivatives, restricted stock valuation and discontinued operations.
Marsh graduated cum laude from Texas A&M with BBA and MS degrees in Accounting. She is a certified public accountant in the State of Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jeff Gehring - Vice President of Sales
Jeff Gehring joined GlobalSCAPE in 2004 and currently serves as Vice President of Sales. He is responsible for GlobalSCAPE's inbound sales, corporate sales, reseller program, and marketing activities.
Gehring has more than 20 years of operational and sales management experience in large- and medium-sized businesses, including Unisys, Bell South, and Metrocall. His experience includes strategic planning and implementation for companies that require rapid growth, as well as establishing processes and policies that foster world-class sales organizations.
Previously in 2004, Gehring was employed by Nextel Partners as director of sales, where he coordinated sales nationwide. From 2003 to 2004, Gehring held the position of sales manager for GlobalSCAPE. Prior to joining GlobalSCAPE, Gehring was a principal at ConnectOne Telecom, a start-up providing wholesale carrier services. Gehring also served as director of sales and marketing at UDP, a telecommunications billing, order management, and customer service software company.
Doug Conyers - Vice President of Engineering
Doug Conyers joined GlobalSCAPE in 2007 and now serves as Vice President of Engineering. He is responsible for product management, software development, and quality assurance.
Prior to joining GlobalSCAPE, he held positions as chief architect, director of systems engineering, and senior software engineer for SecureLogix Corp. An engineer for more than a decade, Conyers also held software engineering positions with both the Southwest Research Institute and Paradigm Simulations.
Conyers is the author of two patents in the telecommunications security market. Currently, he sits on the boards of Trinity University Alumni as well as the Trinity University Computer Science Board.
Conyers graduated magna cum laude from Trinity University with a BS degree in Computer Science.
Gregory Hoffer - Vice President of Solution Architecture
Gregory Hoffer joined GlobalSCAPE in 2000 and currently serves as the Company's Vice President of Solution Architecture. He is responsible for promoting software and services to prospects and customers throughout their evaluation and consumption of GlobalSCAPE technologies. While assisting with sales, Hoffer listens to our customers needs, identifies new concepts and technologies, and passes these ideas to the appropriate channels within GlobalSCAPE.
Before joining GlobalSCAPE, Hoffer held software development positions at Marotz, a consulting firm that provides custom development services to enterprises throughout the U.S. His work in information technology spans 17 years and includes leading IT service planning and delivery for the computer science department at Saint Mary's Hall, a private school in San Antonio, Texas.
Hoffer holds a BS degree in Computer Science from Trinity University and his MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Tim Barton - Vice President and Chief Engineer
Tim Barton joined GlobalSCAPE in 2006 and currently serves as Vice President and Chief Engineer. He is directly responsible for development and maintenance of GlobalSCAPE's software solutions.
Before GlobalSCAPE, Barton was employed by SecureLogix from 1998 through 2006. During these eight years, he became chief architect and played an instrumental role in SecureLogix's Network Computing Security Product of the Year award. Prior to this, he held positions as director of software engineering and enterprise telephony management development manager. Prior to SecureLogix, Barton held positions of research analyst and senior research analyst at Southwest Research Institute where he developed software for the US Military and NASA.
Barton received his BS degree in Computer Science from Slippery Rock University.
Ted Marchut - Vice President of Business Systems
Ted Marchut joined GlobalSCAPE in 2005 and currently serves as Vice President of Business Systems. He is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing GlobalSCAPE's technical infrastructure.
Previous to this position, Marchut was the Vice President of Consumer Products (including CuteFTP) and product manager for WAFS. Prior to joining GlobalSCAPE, he spent six years at Pixel Magic Imaging (acquired by Dai Nippon Photo Imaging) as a product manager. At Pixel Magic Imaging he collaborated on the design, and coordinated the development, of award winning, industry leading consumer photo kiosks, as well as behind-the-counter photo-lab systems, and a photo sharing website. In this role, he helped patent a Digital Photo Printing and Archiving Kiosk.
Marchut is the chair of the Transportation Advisory Board for San Marcos, TX. He also has been one of the top 50 fundraisers for the Valero MS 150 for the past three years.
Marchut currently is pursuing a bachelor's degree at Texas State University, with a projected graduation date of 2010.
